# Dataframe: `CAISO:caiso_fuel_prices` - CAISO Fuel Prices ## Description Hourly natural gas prices published by CAISO for each of its fuel regions, in $/MMBtu. The data is in long format: one row per fuel region per hourly interval, with all timestamps in UTC. This dataset is the gas leg of the project's cross-commodity work - it supplies the gas price used to compute the market-implied heat rate (MIHR), the spark spread, and heat rate call option (HRCO) payoffs against CAISO power prices. ## Data Dictionary - **interval_start_utc**: `TIMESTAMP` Interval start, UTC. - **interval_end_utc**: `TIMESTAMP` Interval end (start + 1 hour), UTC. - **fuel_region_id**: `VARCHAR` Fuel region code (`FR*`).
