Dataframe: CAISO:caiso_fuel_prices - CAISO Fuel Prices

Description

Hourly natural gas prices published by CAISO for each of its fuel regions, in $/MMBtu. The data is in long format: one row per fuel region per hourly interval, with all timestamps in UTC.

This dataset is the gas leg of the project’s cross-commodity work - it supplies the gas price used to compute the market-implied heat rate (MIHR), the spark spread, and heat rate call option (HRCO) payoffs against CAISO power prices.

Data Dictionary

• interval_start_utc: TIMESTAMP Interval start, UTC.

• interval_end_utc: TIMESTAMP Interval end (start + 1 hour), UTC.

• fuel_region_id: VARCHAR Fuel region code (FR*). Long format - one row per region per interval.

• price: DOUBLE PRECISION Natural gas price, $/MMBtu.
